Karthika Deepotsavam in Sri Punyalingeshwara Swamy Kshetram

Each year, as the Hindu month of Karthika (generally October–November) unfolds, the Sri Punyalingeshwara Swamy Kshetram in Choutuppal, Telangana, transforms into a glowing sanctuary. This is when the temple celebrates its Karthika Deepotsavam, a festival of divine light, devotion, and deep spiritual significance.


The Significance of Karthika Month

Karthika is considered one of the most sacred months in the Hindu calendar, especially for Shiva devotees. Lighting lamps (diyas) during this month is believed to dispel darkness both physical and spiritual invoking inner wisdom, purity, and divine grace. The festival of Deepotsavam therefore becomes a powerful metaphor: every lamp kindled is an offering of one's heart, an appeal to the Light to guide one's life.

ప్రతి సంవత్సరం, హిందూ మాసం కార్తీక (సాధారణంగా అక్టోబర్-నవంబర్) వచ్చేసరికి, తెలంగాణలోని చౌటుప్పల్‌లోని శ్రీ పుణ్యలింగేశ్వర స్వామి క్షేత్రం ప్రకాశవంతమైన పవిత్ర స్థలంగా మారుతుంది. ఈ సమయంలోనే ఆలయం కార్తీక దీపోత్సవాన్ని జరుపుకుంటుంది, ఇది దైవిక కాంతి, భక్తి మరియు లోతైన ఆధ్యాత్మిక ప్రాముఖ్యత కలిగిన పండుగ.


కార్తీక మాసం యొక్క ప్రాముఖ్యత

కార్తీకను హిందూ క్యాలెండర్‌లో అత్యంత పవిత్రమైన మాసాలలో ఒకటిగా భావిస్తారు, ముఖ్యంగా శివ భక్తులకు. ఈ నెలలో దీపాలను (దియాలు) వెలిగించడం వల్ల భౌతిక మరియు ఆధ్యాత్మిక చీకటి తొలగిపోతుందని నమ్ముతారు - అంతర్గత జ్ఞానం, స్వచ్ఛత మరియు దైవిక కృపను ప్రేరేపిస్తుంది. కాబట్టి దీపోత్సవం పండుగ ఒక శక్తివంతమైన రూపకంగా మారుతుంది: వెలిగించే ప్రతి దీపం ఒకరి హృదయాన్ని అర్పించడం, ఒకరి జీవితాన్ని నడిపించే వెలుగుకు విజ్ఞప్తి.

हर साल, कार्तिक (आमतौर पर अक्टूबर-नवंबर) के हिंदू महीने के आगमन पर, तेलंगाना के चौटुप्पल में स्थित श्री पुण्यलिंगेश्वर स्वामी क्षेत्रम एक जगमगाते मंदिर में बदल जाता है। इसी समय मंदिर अपना कार्तिक दीपोत्सव मनाता है, जो दिव्य प्रकाश, भक्ति और गहन आध्यात्मिक महत्व का उत्सव है।


कार्तिक माह का महत्व

कार्तिक को हिंदू कैलेंडर में सबसे पवित्र महीनों में से एक माना जाता है, खासकर शिव भक्तों के लिए। ऐसा माना जाता है कि इस महीने में दीप जलाने से भौतिक और आध्यात्मिक दोनों तरह के अंधकार दूर होते हैं और आंतरिक ज्ञान, पवित्रता और ईश्वरीय कृपा का आह्वान होता है। इसलिए दीपोत्सव का त्योहार एक शक्तिशाली रूपक बन जाता है: प्रज्वलित प्रत्येक दीप व्यक्ति के हृदय का एक अर्पण है, प्रकाश से जीवन का मार्गदर्शन करने की एक अपील है।
